Beautiful clean hotel in the middle of China-town! Would stay here again, if the budget permitted - although good value for the price paid - this is a bit out of our budget. great service.

Boutique hotel with a Chinese theme, right in the heart of China Town. Quiet and comfortable, reasonably close to main tourist sites.

It''s a very special, beautiful little hotel. But - free internet never works, the rooms and lobby are smell musty, and exchange rate was 34 to the dollar but was charged 39.

room is clean. staff are nice. good value. however, the best way to reach the hotel in china town is by taking the notorious taxi or tuk-tuk. must bargain for the rate!

The interiors were chic, and just like the pictures on the web. I spent a lot of time just looking at the pretty colours. The staff were all eager and helpful and sweet, which added to the charm of the place. There''s even a common area for guests near the lifts, with a library stocked with books. And since it''s 10 minutes from the train station, it''s location isn''t too bad although a little out of the way. Dreamy.

Wow - what a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I really enjoyed Shanghai Inn. The interior designer did a fantastic job in creating a Chinese chic look. We appreciated the clean, quiet room. The western breakfast started the day well. The staff communicated in a friendly way. We will go back. *Note - the hotel will charge you in BHT at their own conversion rate. The European Bank rate the day we arrived was 31BHT/1USD. The hotel rate was 39BHT/1USD. So - keep that in mind to avoid supprises.

1st-timers to Bangkok can enjoy a free ride on the hotel''s tuk-tuk! If going to the Suan Lum night bazaar, please insist you need to get off at the bazaar entrance. My companion and I had to walk for over 20 mins through the Lumphini Park contrary to the tuk-tuk''s insistence that it was only a 5-min walk! At night, Yaowarat comes alive so you can feast on a wide spread of thai street side cuisine. There''s a bank at the basement which handles money exchange. Plus a decent supermarket and bakery for those who didn''t include breakfast in their room package.
